北京奥运会、残奥会总指挥部召开首次会议
奥运官网6月18日 今天下午，北京奥运会、残奥会总指挥部召开第一次会议。中共中央政治局委员、北京市委书记、北京奥组委主席刘淇主持会议。中共中央政治局委员、国务委员、北京奥组委副主席刘延东，全国人大常委会副委员长、北京奥组委副主席陈至立，国务委员戴秉国，全国政协副主席、北京奥组委执行主席邓朴方出席会议 。
会上，邓朴方通报了关于北京残奥会火炬传递的有关情况。北京市委副书记、市长、北京奥组委执行主席郭金龙通报了关于北京奥运会、残奥会国际贵宾接待工作的有关情况。北京市副市长、北京奥组委执行副主席刘敬民汇报了运行指挥部关于目前筹备工作中的有关问题。会议对相关工作进行了讨论。
刘淇指出，要认真学习贯彻党中央关于筹办奥运的指示精神。中央高度重视奥运筹办工作，今年以来，中央政治局常委会多次听取奥运筹办工作汇报。6月13日，胡锦涛总书记在省区市和中央部门主要负责同志会议上的讲话中，就当前的奥运筹办工作做出了重要部署，具有很强的针对性和重要的指导意义，我们一定要认真学习、坚决贯彻中央的指示精神和胡锦涛总书记的重要讲话精神，把思想和行动统一到中央的要求上来，进一步坚定信心、振奋精神，以满腔的工作热情、科学严谨的工作态度，兢兢业业、扎扎实实做好奥运筹办的各项工作。
刘淇强调，要认真履行好北京奥运会、残奥会总指挥部的职责。现在，总指挥部已开始正式运转。下一步，随着各项工作的推进，我们还要进一步完善各项工作制度、规则，进一步健全工作机制，同时加强总指挥部各位领导同志和成员之间的沟通与联系，更好地发挥集中指挥、统筹协调的作用。
刘淇强调，当前要加强各项工作的落实，重点抓好以下几个方面：一是要把确保安全放在各项工作的首位，“平安奥运”重于泰山，奥运平安人人有责，要把 “平安奥运”落实到奥运筹办工作的各个方面；二是要作过细的工作，以更加精益求精的工作标准、更加科学严谨的工作作风，抓好工作中的每一个细节；三是要按照奥运会、残奥会的赛事标准，抓紧做好各项工作的演练，不断提高指挥体系实际运转的能力和水平，为赛事期间的高效运转奠定基础。
刘淇要求，要把以人为本的要求落实到奥运筹办工作中 ，做好“两个服务”，争取“两个满意”。要及时、准确地了解各方面的需求，使我们的工作更有针对性，更容易为人们所接受。要按照以人为本的要求，深入细致地做好各国来宾的接待服务工作。在奥运筹办过程中，要更多地方便人民群众。
刘淇强调，今天距离2008年奥运会开幕只有51天了。我们一定要按照中央要求，更加发奋努力、更加深入细致地做好各项筹办工作，办成一届有特色、高水平的奥运会、残奥会，努力向党中央、国务院，向全国人民和国际社会交上一份满意的答卷。
